Andrew Yang just announced he is dropping out from the 2020 presidential race. In a statement to his supporters, Yang said, “I stand before you today and say that while we did not win this election, we are just getting started. This is the beginning.” He took the stage before supporters in Manchester, New Hampshire today to confirm the news, and he said that one of the proudest moments of his campaign was “giving $1000 a month to 13 families across the country.”
Throughout his campaign for president, Yang focused on policies that would change the outlook for workers who lost their jobs due to automation. He was known for his $1000 a month policy, which would have granted every family in the United States a basic universal income.
More to come, as this is a developing story!
