Biden vs Trump

It’s official! Joe Biden is now the sole Democratic nominee for president, and he will be competing against current president Donald Trump. All of this comes after Bernie Sanders announced his campaign would be put to an end. In a statement to supporters, Sanders explained how he "cannot in good conscience continue to mount a campaign that cannot win and which would interfere with the important work required of all of us in this difficult hour. In response, Biden encouraged Sanders supporters to join his movement in hopes of creating a "movement to defeat Trump."

Sanders also ran for president in 2016, when he ran against Hillary Clinton. Sanders was a proponent of policies such as "Medicare for All," free public colleges and universities, as well as creating a wealth tax on the very wealthy. He described his campaign numerous times as a "grassroots campaign," in an attempt to highlight the distribution of support. In terms of health, Sanders suffered a heart attack just months ago, yet he continued campaigning when he returned to full health.
